This UK-based team plays a crucial role in providing organizational support and strategic direction to the Ugandan team, forming an essential component of Siloam 256. 

Ian Mooney

Chair

Ian has a background in International Development and a MicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Development Policy. He is passionate about youth development and driving impactful growth at Siloam:256. Ian is committed to amplifying the voices of young people in the Deaf community and empowering them to reach their full potential through strategic guidance and organisation oversight.

Matthew George

Secretary

Matt has a background in project management and supporting the development of young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Matt is inspired by the Siloam 256 vision set out to allow the deaf community in Uganda to gain skills that bolster their financial independence whilst providing a platform that will enable the community to advocate for broader societal changes.

Blessing Makengo
Treasurer

Blessing has experience in nursing, caring for vulnerable groups of people, and ensuring decisions are made in the best interest of the service user. Blessing is motivated to support the apprentices at Siloam 256 in achieving their full potential to become active contributors to society. She is eager to work with the team dedicated to serving the deaf community in Uganda and completing the mission of this charity.

Harriet Labouche

Trustee

Harriet has worked in the charity sector for 10 years and has a background in Global Health. Her role as a Research Manager has allowed her to learn about facilitating equitable partnerships between UK-based and African institutions Harriet is inspired by the fact that Siloam 256 is grass-roots, working from the ground up and with the people most important to its mission at its heart; people with disabilities in Uganda.


Yasmin Crawford

Trustee

Yas Crawford is a Fine Art Photographer, Visual Artist and multidisciplinary collaborator who has exhibited internationally. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and a former Fellow of the Geological Society and sits on several collaborative art-science Boards. 

Yas has worked in various business roles and is now working in what she calls ‘The Grey Space’ in between disciplines. She has 30+ years of commercial life science experience as an entrepreneur developing her own niche injectable medical portfolio for the international healthcare market. She has worked as a Board Advisor and NED for SMEs, in transformational change within the blue-chip pharmaceutical industry and has researched with interest long term chronic illness. Her latest role is with Siloam:256 as a Trustee supporting young deaf people in Uganda.
